High-five Friday,  Inspirational Books

High-five Friday!!

I know I did a High-five Friday!! only two weeks ago, but there was so much celebrating going on that I had to break it into two posts. How fantastic is that?! So, here’s another list of inspirational writers who have already found the  Merry in their Christmas this year!

Winnie Griggs recently learned that her June 2010 book, The Heart’s Song, has been nominated for an RT (Romantic Times) Reviewer’s Choice Award.  Winnie is especially excited since this is her very first book with a contemporary setting and is a story that was on her heart for some time before she actually wrote it.

Lorena McCourtney celebrates the fact that Revell recently released on Kindle the four books in her Ivy Malone Mysteries series (Invisible, In Plain Sight, On the Run, and Stranded). Invisible is a free download and has been in the top ten on the Kindle Free Top 100 list. Her new book in the Andi McConnell Mysteries series, Here Comes the Ride, is also available on Kindle now.

Lisa Lickel has taken the reins of editor-in-chief for the Wisconsin Regional Writers Association’s member magazine, Creative Wisconsin, and next February will edit the monthly electronic e-zine, InkPlots. WRWA is a member organization open to anyone.

Diane Moore completed her mystery-romance novel and has sent it to publishers, along with query letters to those she met with at the ACFW conference in September. Her goal is to find small publishing houses seeking this genre.

Julie Lessman’s socks were blessed off when her latest release A Hope Undaunted made Booklist’s “Top Ten Inspirational Fiction.”  See the summary at Booklist Online.

Jane Mohlines, author of two non-fiction books, celebrates having her first novel, The Public Jesus, as an ebook available at Amazon. Jesus’ daily life shows the wisdom, emotion, and character to convince family, apostles, and thousands of followers that he is God’s Son.  Fictional names, conversations, and experiences provide the reader with connectedness and a feeling of being there, such as, when Prisca at Jacob’s well accepts Jesus’ loving kindness and turns from a life of emotional pain to inner healing.

Vannetta Chapman has an accomplishment to cheer. Her debut release, A Simple Amish Christmas, made it to #14 on the CBD fiction list. She has also learned the name and release date for the first book in her Amish cozy series from Zondervan–Falling to Pieces, A Quilt Shop Murder will release on September 16, 2011.

Edwina Cowgill received wonderful news recently when she learned her devotion, Open, Honest Worship, will be appear online in The Sara Ministry’s January/February 2011 issue.

Mildred Colvin’s novel, Facing Tessa’s Past, was released on November 10, 2010. She is excited about this first book in her contemporary Route 66 series with Heartsong Presents.

Amber Stockton has two reasons to celebrate. First, her latest book, Michigan Brides, released on December 1st to all major retailers. It’s also available everywhere books are sold online. Second, she just signed a new 3-book contract with Barbour’s Heartsong Presents line for a series set in northern Delaware during the Gilded Age and Turn of the Century. The first book from that contract is set to release in summer 2011.

Diane E. Tatum had a fun November. Her novel, Gold Earrings, went into production at Tate Publishing with copy editing in November and conceptual editing in December. The release date for the book is expected to be September 2011. She also presented a session at the National Middle School Association called “Paperfolding 101: Creating graphic organizers from regular paper.”

A high-five!! goes out to all!

Oh, and you’ll find another of my light-verse poems on the Cracker Barrel page of Mature Living’s December 2010 issue.

It’s so awesome to be able to celebrate with every one of these talented people. I hope you’ll visit their websites and see what else they’re up to!
