High Five Friday!!
October may be a spooky month for some, but the following authors have received news that makes them want to cheer. Congratulations and a hearty High Five!! to the following:
Jennifer Slattery has two reasons to celebrate this month. First, she received a contract from New Hope Publishers for her debut novel. The title and release date are to be determined. Second, she has accepted a paid position as a regular contributor to Crosswalk.com. Jennifer will write about a variety of topics from parenting to career to financial issues.
James L. Rubart celebrates after learning his latest novel, Memory’s Door, hit the CBA Fiction Bestseller list for October.
Catherine Castle has learned her novel, The Nun and the Narc, is an EPIC (Electronic Publishing Industry Coalition) finalist in the Action/Adventure/Romance category. They will announce the winners in March 2014.
Bonnie Doran received a pleasant surprise when she attended the MileHiCon, a Denver science fiction convention, where writers, rather than media people, were the guests of honor. A local bookstore called Who Else? not only sold out of their copies of her debut novel, Dark Biology, they sold all the copies Bonnie had with her. It created a lot of talk about the book—always a good thing for a writer.
Dora Hiers is thrilled to announce a three-book contract with Pelican Book Group for her Harmon Heritage series where three grieving siblings struggle to find healing and love after their father’s death.
