High Five Friday!!
Today we celebrate with a number of writers who are sharing their accomplishments. A high five!! goes to the following:
Jennifer Uhlarik celebrates being a semi-finalist in the Historical category of American Christian Fiction Writers Genesis Contest.
Paula Mowery is excited to join Lisa Lickel, Teena Stewart, and Kathy Rouser in signing a contract with Prism Book Group for their historical romance anthology, Brave New Century. The title of her story is Forgiven. Paula says, “Each of us wrote a romance set in a city in 1900. I’m especially thrilled to have this story published because it is based on an actual shoot-out and my paternal grandparents. My city is my hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. It was fun to delve into archives with my mama and daughter at a downtown museum.” Paula also wants to announce she has accepted a position as Acquisitions Editor at Prism Book Group. She’s thrilled about this new opportunity God literally dropped in her lap. Potential authors can see what she’s looking for on the submissions page at www.prismbookgroup.com
Cynthia Hickey signed a 3-book contract with Harlequin’s Heartsong Presents. The first book in the series releases July 1, 2013. The latest contract makes this a four-book series about the historical Harvey Girls.
Gail Pallotta rejoices in learning that Stopped Cold, her young adult mystery with suspense, first love, and spiritual talk is an All Romance eBooks best seller. Reminiscent of Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, it’s about teens solving real problems in the real world.
Johnnie Alexander Donley sold a short story, “Beneath the Christmas Star,” to Guideposts for their new Christmas anthology, A Christmas Cup of Cheer.
Sandra Orchard is excited to announce that Critical Condition, an October 2012 Love Inspired Suspense release, received the 2012 RT Reviewers’ Choice Best Book of the Year Award for Love Inspired Suspense. She’s also tickled that an upcoming release, Deadly Devotion, is already garnering great reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and Romantic Times. One reviewer called it, “a fascinating mystery that readers as well as tea lovers will enjoy.”
Amanda Cabot is delighted to announce that Christmas Roses is a finalist for the Booksellers Best Award. This contest, which is sponsored by the Greater Detroit Chapter of Romance Writers of America, is a special one for her, because the judges are either booksellers or librarians.
Congratulations to everyone, and thanks for letting us share in the celebration of your good news!
