Celebrating 240 Years!
by Sandra Ardoin
NO! We’re not celebrating 240 years of me. (Though there are days when it seems like it’s possible.) 🙂
Next Monday, we celebrate 240 years since the American Declaration of Independence was approved by those in the Continental Congress. When it was officially signed is up for debate. Many historians think it wasn’t signed until August 2, 1776, one month after twelve of the thirteen colonies voted to seek independence.
Enjoy your long holiday. While you fly your flags and shoot your fireworks, remember those with the courage to pay the price for our freedom, then through now.
So, what is your favorite fictional story set during the days of the Revolution? What is the most surprising thing you’ve learned about that time in history? How do you celebrate the 4th?

Heading to the mountains, this time by ourselves. Our agenda? Kick our feet up, sip coffee and savor the view from the back deck. Oh, and eat. 🙂
Happy Fourth, Sandy!
