Writing in General

So Many Words

On July 1st, ACFW began its first Novel Track month, similar to the National Novel Writing Month every November, or  what is known as NaNoWriMo. The ACFW program takes place four times per year: January, April, July and October. Those writers signed up for Novel Track set a goal to write at least 10,000 words during the month. Most are considerably more ambitious, with amounts up to 60,000 words.

I didn’t do the first Novel Track as I was busy preparing my manuscript proposal. Once that was finished, I was ready to work in earnest on my next project and set a word count goal of 5,000 words per week. That seemed to work well for me, so when time came to sign up for October’s Novel Track, I chose to stay with that and entered my goal of 20,000 words.

At the bottom of my web page, you will see a progress report. By October 31st, I hope to show you a total that is well over my stated goal.

Now, I need to get back to work. I don’t want to fall behind on the first day!
