Have you taken a walk around the web this month and found valuable advice? Here are a few posts I’ve found enlightening in one way or another.

INSPIRATION

So much truth in Edwina Cowgill’s post “Step Out of the Traffic” on the Musings of Edwina blog, especially in light of the current culture in the U.S. and around the world.

When I can, I enjoy watching NASCAR races (Congrats, Joey Logano!), so I was intrigued by Lori Hatcher’s title “How Bump Drafting Can Help You Grow Spiritually.” I loved her use of the drafting idea as an analogy for our need to learn from more mature Christians. 

Is it selfish to take care of ourselves during the holidays? Bonnie Gray provides “A Soul Care Tip for the Holidays” on the (in)Courage blog.

READING

Author DiAnn Mills interviewed her husband about what it’s like “Living With a Writer” for the Blue Ridge Christian Writers Conference blog. I was impressed by how smart a man she married. 😉

Ah, yes, the most asked question of a writer. Perhaps you’ve asked it too. “The Question Most Asked of Authors” by Susan Reichert on Southern Writers Suite “T”.

I love worship music, the praise songs and the old hymns. But “5 Reasons Worship Lyrics Matter” on the Church Leaders blog made me think.

WRITING

Are you considering writing a novella for a collection? Linda Yezak’s post “Tips for Participating in Novella Collections” provides some things to think about before saying yay or nay.

If you’re like me, you’ve probably experimented with different processes for story structure, including Michael Hauge’s Six-Stage Structure. “Plot and Structure: Michael Hauge’s Six-Stage Structure” on the Christian Editing Services blog has some interesting thoughts and links to more information on that particular form. The video is also worth watching, though it is long.
