Romancing Christmas in July

by Sandra Ardoin

I don’t know about you, but it makes me a little sad to see the stores stocking Christmas decorations in July. I feel as though I just took mine down. On the other hand… 😉

This ultra-steamy weather has me missing Santa and snowballs, firelight and football, heavy sweaters and hot chocolate (with marshmallows, of course). It’s also a great time to start thinking Christmas romance novels and novellas.

This year’s first July Christmas read was Colleen Coble’s All is Calm, All is Bright. These are two novellas with characters from two different series and both contain her signature romantic suspense. All is Calm is from the Lonestar series set in Texas. All is Bright is from the Hope Beach series set in North Carolina. These are short, quick-reading novellas.

My next Christmas novella read will be Ms. Coble’s Silent Night, Holy Night. Silent Night comes from her Rock Harbor series and Holy Night is set in Hawaii, part of her Aloha Reef series.

In between, I spent a couple romantic hours with Chase and Camille at the Tennessee ski resort Where Wishes Live, written by my friend, Dora Hiers. This is a reunion story of two people forced apart as teens and brought back together years later. Sweet as that hot chocolate!

BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. (Oh, wow, I sound like an As-Seen-on-TV commercial)

Check out these upcoming Christmas-themed novella and novel releases:

Mountain Christmas Brides – One of Barbour’s nine-novella, nine-author collections set in the 19th century, releases in September 2016.

Christmas Conspiracy – A Love Inspired Suspense novel by Susan Sleeman, releases December 2016.

A Family Under the Christmas Tree – A novel written by Terri Reed. It releases in October 2016.

AND, I’d be highly remiss if I didn’t suggest you read my historical romance novella The Yuletide Angel. 🙂

So, now you have some ideas for your Christmas reading for July, as well as August, September, October, November, and December. What is on your list? Share your favorite Christian Christmas fiction not listed here. Maybe some older releases?
